In our region with all the homicidal lunatics running loose we don’t. If you really think it all the way through, why should I open my door to a masked costumed stranger begging for candy, we go to give you your treat, and you stab us as we place it in your bag, or you have a loaded gun and shoot us as soon as we answer your knock, or even a home raid taking us all hostage. Just cause the Bible says knock on the door and it shall be opened to you doesn’t mean that we’re going to. We’re trusting of God, not stoopid about potential crimes you’re capable of doing.
Oh absolutely I do. I love Halloween, it’s my favorite holiday. My wife and I usually go to at least one Halloween party a year and I always dress up to hand out candy. I bought a sexy bunny costume to wear to our party this year but that might be a bit too racy to wear for the trick or treaters so for that I might go with a witch or devil costume I already have.
I’m not fond of Halloween any more. Halloween It has turned into something that all adults owe all children. After the little ones are done, after 9 when I’m ready to shut off the lights, clean up and go to bed, the teenagers come and shove pillowcases at me to fill. They don’t say “trick or treat”, they don’t dress in costume, they don’t “play the game” – they just stand there in a threatening pose and demand, by body language, that I comply.
