In Scotland and until recently it was mostly children that celebrated Halloween and you didn’t have a lot of people having actual parties. We used to just go guising which others now refer to as trick or treat. A lot of American traditions are now appearing more and more and people are starting to have actual big organised Halloween parties and adults are starting to take a bigger part.
You do find though that as the children get older the tend to go Hocus Pocus off the idea of dressing up and going out guising, plus there are so many people nowadays that do not open their doors when you go to them so it is a wasted effort.
One of two reasons either it’s because they don’t believe in celebrating it because of how it originated being all hallows Which was not really all that fun or family-friendly if you look into it or to because the way society these days of looking on it and telling you that you can’t dress your kids up like this or you can’t dress your kids up like that and so if you were told that no matter what you do you’re wrong why would you do it.
